Give Us Access to Your Facebook & Instagram

To run your ads and manage your pages, we need access through Meta's Business Settings. This takes about 10 minutes, and you stay the owner of everything the whole time.

Your Page, Instagram, and ad account stay in your business account. You can see everything we do and remove our access anytime.

We can run your ads

We'll be able to build your campaigns, create an ad account if you don't have one, and track your leads.

Your card, your ad spend

Ad spend gets billed straight from Meta to your card. We never hold or mark up your ad budget.

Before You Start

Have these ready:

A computer (Meta's business settings are much easier on a desktop or laptop)
The Facebook login you use to manage your business Page
Two-factor authentication turned on for your Facebook account (Meta often requires it to share access)

Part 1

Part 1: Add Heartland Creative Agency as a Partner

This connects your business to ours so our team can manage your Page, Instagram, and ads.

Step 1: Open Your Business Settings
Go to Meta Business Settings and log in with the Facebook account that manages your business Page.

At the top left, make sure your business name is selected. If you manage more than one business, click the name and switch to the right one.
Don't have a business account yet? Tap here
Go to business.facebook.com and click "Create a business portfolio" (it may say "Create account")
Enter your business name, your name, and your business email
Follow the prompts to add your Facebook Page
Come back here and start at Step 1
Pro tip: If you get a "you don't have permission" message, you're logged into a Facebook account that isn't an admin on your business. Log out and try the account you use to post on your Page.
Step 2: Make Sure Your Page and Instagram Are in Your Business Account
We can only access what's connected to your business account, so let's double-check.
Click path: Settings, then Accounts, then Pages
- If you see your business Page listed, you're good.
- If not, click "Add" → "Add a Page," then search for your Page and add it.
Then check Instagram the same way:
Click path: Settings, then Accounts, then Instagram accounts
- If your Instagram isn't listed, click "Add" and log in to your business Instagram.
Heads up: If Meta says another business already owns your Page, let us know. That usually means a past marketing company or employee set it up, and we'll help you get it back.
Step 3: Add Heartland Creative Agency as a Partner
Click path: Settings, then Users, then Partners
1. Click "Add" (top right)
2. Choose "Give a partner access to your assets"
3. Paste our Business ID into the box:
  HCA Business ID
  HCA Business ID: 1621052258495857
4. Click "Next"
Pro tip: The ID is 16 digits. If Meta doesn't recognize it, make sure no extra spaces got copied in.
Step 4: Share Your Assets with Full Control
Next, Meta will ask which assets to share. Do this for each asset type on the left:
1. Facebook Pages: Check the box next to your business Page, then turn on "Full control" (it may also say "Everything" or "Manage Page")
2. Instagram accounts: Check your business Instagram, then turn on "Full control"
3. Ad accounts: Check your ad account, then turn on "Full control" (it may say "Manage ad accounts")
4. Datasets (Pixels): If you see one listed, check it and turn on "Full control." If nothing is listed, skip it.
5. Click "Assign assets" (or "Save changes")
Heads up: No ad account listed? That's totally fine. It just means you don't have one yet, and we'll create one for you inside your business account once Part 2 is done.
Pro tip: Meta changes the wording on these buttons pretty often. If you don't see the exact words, always pick the option that gives the most access.

Part 2

Part 2: Give Phil Dodds Full Access

This lets Phil create your ad account, set up tracking, and fix issues fast without having to bug you for permission every time.

Step 5: Invite Phil Dodds
Click path: Settings, then Users, then People
1. Click "Invite people" (top right)
2. Enter Phil's email:

3. Click outside the box, then click "Next"
4. When asked what kind of access to give, choose "Full access" (this may be labeled "Admin" or "Full control")
5. Leave "Temporary access" turned off
6. Click "Next"
Heads up: Choose "Full access," not "Partial access." Partial access won't let Phil create an ad account or set up your tracking.
Step 6: Assign Phil's Assets and Send the Invite
Meta will now ask which assets Phil can work on. Same as before:
1. Facebook Pages: Check your Page → turn on "Full control"
2. Instagram accounts: Check your Instagram → turn on "Full control"
3. Ad accounts: Check your ad account (if you have one) → turn on "Full control"
4. Click "Next" to review
5. Click "Send invite" (it may say "Invite with assets")
That's it. You're done. Phil will get an email to accept the invite, and we'll confirm once everything's connected.
